Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Dan Bardell fears that Ange Postecoglou’s body language on the touchline towards the end of Monday’s game might not bode well for Tottenham this season.
Postecoglou, who usually remains quite stoic on the touchline, seemed extremely frustrated towards the end of Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Leicester City.
The Spurs head coach held his knee in exasperation, staring at the ground after Richarlison missed a late chance to score the winner.
The Australian’s frustration was understandable as his side should have been out of sight by half-time, given the dominance they enjoyed in the game, but they were once again let down by a lack of composure in the final third.
Postecoglou did not appear pleased following the final whistle, admitting that his players made some poor decisions in the final third and lost their cool in the second half (Football.London).
Bardell insisted that the mentality of the Spurs players will continue to be questioned if they keep throwing points away like they are at the moment.
The journalist told Tottenham News about Monday’s game: “It was a stereotypical game of two halves. In the first half, Tottenham looked like they could have run riot but they didn’t take their chances and went in at half time only one up.
“Then they started the second half and Leicester scored with their first real chance and then they looked like scoring again. The game felt like a direct follow-on from last season.
“Even Postecoglou’s body language at the end after Richarlison missed that chance. There is always a question of the mentality of Spurs which was shown once they conceded that goal.”

It is quite natural for Ange to show disappointment at the end as Richarlison is usually good in the air and had a great chance to rescue all three points, being completely unmarked at the far post.
At the very least, one would have expected him to hit the target.
