Fabrizio Romano denies that Tottenham are in talks with Juventus over a potential deal for Federico Chiesa this summer, despite consistent reports over the past month.
CaughtOffside reported this week that Liverpool are keen on competing with Tottenham Hotspur for Federico Chiesa but the Lilywhites are expected to make an early move for the Juventus star and steal a march on the Reds.
Over the last week, plenty of outlets have backed Spurs to push ahead with a move for Chiesa, who could be available for a fee of around €20m-€25m this summer.
Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg became the first high-profile source to report that Spurs have ‘concrete interest’ in signing the Italian star, stating that Tottenham had even contacted Chiesa’s agent.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now poured cold water on the rumours linking Tottenham with a move for Chiesa. Apparently, the Lilywhites have had absolutely no contact with Juventus about a deal.
The journalist did admit that Tottenham want to sign one more attacker this summer, but it appears that attacker will not be Federico Chiesa.

We have seen some contradictory reports emerging on Tottenham’s pursuit of Chiesa over the last few days, but Fabrizio Romano appears to have given the definitive answer here.
Hopefully, Tottenham make a move for Eberechi Eze or Pedro Neto in the next week.
