Tottenham Hotspur confirm their third signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Archie Gray from Leeds United and Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig.
It has been a relatively slow summer of signings for Tottenham this year, perhaps due to the existence of the European Championships and Copa America.
Timo Werner was the first 2024/25 summer signing to be confirmed, extending his loan in N17 for another 12 months from RB Leipzig. Archie Gray was then signed from Leeds United, with Joe Rodon going the other way.
Finally, Spurs have now confirmed signing number three – 18-year-old Yang Min-hyuk from Gangwon FC. The teenager has made 25 appearances on the wing so far this season, contributing eight goals and four assists.
The Mirror were the first to report that a mystery Premier League club was attempting to sign the young winger, and it suggested that Spurs were the ones in talks.
Not long after, Fabrizio Romano gave the deal his trademark ‘here we go’ treatment, and we now have the official confirmation from Tottenham themselves.
Yang joins Spurs on a deal until 2030, but will not arrive in North London until January 2025 when the current K-League season ends.
Spurs will actually play against Yang Min-hyuk this week in a friendly as he has been included in the Team K-League, so fans won’t have to wait long to take a look at him.
Interestingly, Spurs indicate that the correct way to spell his name is Yang Min-Hyeok, despite the vast majority of journalists, including South Korean journalists, spelling it Yang Min-hyuk.
