Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario went to watch Barnet in the National League on Tuesday night, to see how young Spurs keeper Josh Keeley has been getting on during his loan spell.
Things are going pretty well for Tottenham in the goalkeeper department this year. The signing of Guglielmo Vicario last summer has proven to be a masterstroke, with the Italian being one of the best players for the Lilywhites this season.
Vicario has, according to WhoScored statistics, been the best player in his position in the Premier League this season.
Not only has Vicario been performing well himself, but he has been sharing his experience and knowledge with those around him. At the end of January, it was revealed that the 27-year-old had surprised the club’s academy goalkeepers with a coaching clinic.
Now, Vicario has offered his support to young Spurs keeper Josh Keeley, by attending a Barnet match and watching his teammate in action during his loan spell.
A tweet from Lilywhite Rose reads: “If you couldn’t love him anymore, understand Guglielmo Vicario went to watch Barnet last night so he could keep an eye on how Josh Keeley was getting on. Josh kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win.”
Keeley joined the National League side in January and has now made ten appearances this season (Transfermarkt), impressing many with his displays between the sticks. Barnet are now second in the National League and have a great chance of achieving promotion.

I love this from Vicario. You won’t find many Premier League goalkeepers that would make the trip to a National League game on a weekday night to watch a youngster play, but Vicario clearly cares a great deal about the club and understands he can be a great role model to the next generation, too.
