For almost two years now, Ye — the artist formerly known as Kanye West — has been strutting around with Bianca Censori, his partner in romance and deeply confusing dressing. During their relationship, Censori, who was once an architect at Yeezy, has developed a real knack for shocking people with her inventive and often risqué outfits, whether that was going shoeless, wearing a pillow as a top, or stretching stockings to their limits. But it was only a matter of time until people started to question the strength of their bond, and now rumors are flying that Ye and Censori are planning to get divorced — despite an intense showing of PDA in Tokyo.
On Monday, TMZ reported that Censori and Ye have both been telling friends they broke up a few weeks ago. The tabloid claimed Censori is heading to Australia to reconnect with her family, while Ye apparently has been talking about moving to Tokyo. They hadn’t been seen together in public since mid-September, when they went on a shopping outing, also in Tokyo. Ye appears to have stayed there — he was seen last week dining solo in an all-white sweat suit at a Jamaican restaurant in Shibuya City.
Shortly after TMZ published its report, photos surfaced of Ye and Censori looking very touchy at the Dover Street Market Ginza (yes, still in Tokyo), suggesting they were very much still together. The tabloid swiftly reversed course, determining that the couple is “once again inseparable.”
Censori and Ye were first seen together in early 2023 sharing a meal at the Waldorf in Beverly Hills. Tabloids spent a large chunk of the year referring to the woman as his “wife” — scare quotes included — because Ye kept calling her that despite there being zero evidence of the couple ever filing for a marriage license. But last October, the Daily Mail claimed to have reviewed a “confidential marriage license” that proved the couple had indeed gotten legally married in December 2022.
Whatever the case, the status of their marriage is now even more unclear — though it seems like it’s probably too soon for tabloids to start referring to Censori as Ye’s “ex-wife.”
