I’ll admit that between my lack of enthusiasm for NBA 2K24 and the frequent absence of detailed patch notes, I’ve not been on top of posting news about the official updates this year. With that being said, Season 8 is tipping off in NBA 2K24 this Friday, and as such, a new patch is available. As always, it should come through automatically as long as you’re online. If it doesn’t, try checking for updates manually, or restarting your console or Steam client.
It appears that 2K has given up on updating the release notes over on the official website, but according to a post on the official NBA 2K Community Discord, it simply prepares the game for Season 8 in MyCAREER and MyTEAM. At this point of the year, that’s about all we can expect! A further patch for Season 9 should be dropping in about six weeks, and that will take us through to the release of NBA 2K25.
You can find a history of patch notes for NBA 2K24 (such as they are, in most cases) for both the Next Gen and Current Gen versions over in our Wiki. I’ve also added information about the Season 7 update, which I previously neglected to post. As always, if you have any thoughts on the Season 8 patch or the game in general, feel free to share them in the comments below, or join in the discussion in our NBA 2K24 Forum.
