Tengrinews.kz - US President-elect Donald Trump stated that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has expressed a desire to meet with him.
"He wants to meet, and we are setting it up," Trump said before a meeting with Republican governors at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
However, Trump did not specify the timing of possible talks between the two leaders.
"President Putin wants to meet. He has said that even publicly and we have to get that war over with. That's a bloody mess," added the US president-elect.
It is worth noting that the day before, Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov announced that there are no specific plans for contacts between Putin and Trump at the moment, and there have been no "impulses" from the American politician on this matter. According to Peskov, it would be more appropriate to wait until Trump assumes office.
