Tengrinews.kz - A fish kill has been recorded again at the Black River in Atyrau, according to Ak Zhaiyk.
This time, the victims were young catfish. Local residents began collecting the dead fish in containers, presumably not to save them.
Yerlan Esenov, Deputy Head of the regional ecology department, reported that a commission had been dispatched to the site. The commission includes representatives from the ecology department and staff from the Zhaiyk-Caspian interregional basin fisheries inspection.
It is worth noting that a similar situation occurred on August 2, when a mass fish kill happened at the Black River. The cause was attributed to high air temperatures reaching up to +30 degrees and a lack of oxygen in the water.
Earlier in August, a large number of young crucian carp died in the Zhyloy district of Atyrau region.
