Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet, the national hydrometeorological service of Kazakhstan, has released a forecast for October 12 to 14.
Kazakhstan is expected to face a significant Arctic cold front over the weekend, with heavy snowfall predicted across most of the country. From October 12 to 14, snowstorms will hit central and eastern regions, reducing visibility and creating icy road conditions.
Southern and southeastern parts of the country will experience rain, with rain and snow in mountainous areas. Wind speeds will increase, and fog is expected in the morning and at nighttime.
"Only the western regions, due to an anticyclone, will see partly cloudy skies. However, this anticyclone will bring nighttime temperatures down to -5 to -10°C, while the rest of the country will see temperatures drop to between -2 and -10°C at night. In the southern regions, nighttime temperatures will remain warmer, at +5 to +10°C," Kazhydromet reported.
Earlier, it was reported that on October 11, the western, northern, and eastern parts of the North Kazakhstan region would experience precipitation (rain and snow), along with blizzards and icy roads. Snow has already fallen in Petropavlovsk today, with residents sharing photos of the first snowfall of the season.
