Tengrinews.kz - Vice-Minister of National Economy, Arman Kassenov responded to a question regarding the financing of the construction of a nuclear power plant (NPP) in Kazakhstan.
According to him, the construction could be carried out on a deferred payment basis.
"No decision has been made yet on who will build it or which countries will be involved. Therefore, there is no clarity on how it will be financed. I know that one of the options for financing the NPP construction is to obtain it in installments. The company that will construct it may offer a payment deferral. Accordingly, funds may not be needed for financing. However, we cannot confirm this with certainty at the moment, as there is no clear understanding yet of who will be building it," Kassenov said at a Senate briefing.
It is worth recalling that the referendum on NPP took place on Sunday, October 6, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with final voting results were announced on Tuesday, October 8.
