Tengrinews.kz - A video has appeared on social media showing an elderly man in an Almaty bus holding an object resembling a gun.
The footage shows the man transferring the gun from one hand to another before heading towards the exit. According to the video description, the incident took place on a bus traveling on route No. 106.
Reactions from netizens are mixed: some perceive it as a prank, while others express concern about a potential threat.
The Almaty Police Department has informed the publication that the man has been detained.
"During the monitoring of social networks, a video was identified showing a man demonstrating a gun while on public transportation. In response, the individual's identity was quickly established. He has been detained and brought to the police station. The man explained that he works as a security guard and that the gun, which turned out to be a toy, was purchased at a market in the city," stated the police department's press service.

The department also noted that the investigation is ongoing and the actions of the individual will be legally assessed.
There was also an earlier case when illegal miners were shut down in the Kostanay region.
