Tengrinews.kz - Apple has launched its new iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The presentation was streamed live on the company's website.
The new iPhone 16 Pro models are larger and faster than ever. Designed specifically for Apple Intelligence, the new A18 chip boasts a 40% speed increase over the A16 chip used in the iPhone 15.
"Apple's intelligent features mark the beginning of a new era for Siri, making it more natural, contextually relevant, and personalized through a deeper understanding of language," said Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering.
Federighi noted that Siri can now extract information from users' text messages, allowing it to remind users about recommendations for TV shows and music sent by friends.
The new smartphones feature an updated design, with repositioned camera lenses. The display is 50% more durable than the previous model and can reach a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits.
The iPhone 16 Pro series is 0.2 inches larger, providing more screen space. The base Pro model has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max has a 6.9-inch screen.
Apple claims the devices have the thinnest bezels to date, the longest battery life among all iPhones, and come in four colors: White Titanium, Dark Titanium, Natural Titanium, and Desert Brown Titanium.
The iPhone 16 starts at $799, while the iPhone 16 Plus is priced at $899.
In addition to the new iPhones, Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 10, featuring sleep apnea detection and a larger screen compared to the Ultra version. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 was also unveiled, offering up to 36 hours of active use and 72 hours in standby mode without recharging.
New AirPods 4 were also announced, with significantly improved sound quality and deeper bass, along with active noise cancellation. The updated AirPods Max now feature USB-C and are priced at $549, while the AirPods Pro 2 received new features as well.
Earlier reports suggested Apple might discontinue the iPhone 15 Pro and ten other devices. It was anticipated that the company would announce the cessation of some products following the release of their new smartphone lineup.
