Tengrinews.kz - The Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the people of Kazakhstan, touching upon the system of mandatory social health insurance.
The President emphasized the need to implement comprehensive measures to strengthen national health and to reboot the system of social support for citizens.
“Compulsory medical insurance has increased funding for healthcare and supported private medicine. This year, nearly 3.3 trillion tenge has been allocated, but the results are in question. Due to inconsistencies in the system, participants resort to falsifications: patients are offered paid services instead of free ones or are forced to wait. This is unacceptable,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President stated the need to create a balanced package of basic medical care within the budget.
“Everything should be paid through insurance. For this, digitalization and the creation of a unified state medical information system are needed. It will ensure data control for all medical organizations. The government must urgently address this and provide regular reports,” the President concluded.
President Tokayev delivered this message during his annual address to the nation on September 2, during a joint session of the Parliament. The address focused on the future political and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan.
