Tengrinews.kz - Thailand will introduce an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system for Kazakh citizens starting in 2025.
According to VisasNews from 2025, Kazakh citizens, along with citizens from other visa-exempt countries, will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to visit Thailand.
ETA system will be implemented in phases: a pilot launch is scheduled for December 2024, with full implementation by June 2025. Applications can be submitted via the e-Visa portal at: thaievisa.go.th.
Kazakh citizens will need to obtain an electronic ETA for each trip to Thailand. The ETA is free of charge and allows the use of automated border control gates. Diplomatic and official passports will be exempt from this requirement.
ETA system in Thailand, similar to the ESTA in the US and the AVE in Canada, will simplify entry for tourists and business travelers, as well as improve movement control. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand noted that the ETA will enhance security and manage tourist flows.
It’s worth noting that the Kazakh government has approved a visa-free agreement with Thailand. Thanks to this new visa-free regime, travelers from Kazakhstan and other countries can enter Thailand without needing a visa before or after arrival.
