Tengrinews.kz - A car parked in the village of Don, Khromtau District, Aktobe Region, spontaneously caught fire while a 10-year-old girl was inside, reports Tengrinews.kz, citing Diapazon.
The publication includes information from the local rural district administration, noting that the family is considered well-off. The girl’s mother is a schoolteacher, and her father works at a local mine.
"There are three children in the family. The eldest recently got married, the second son is a school student, and the 10-year-old girl was homeschooled due to an illness," the report states.
On August 27, the parents had returned from Khromtau and parked the car in their yard before going inside their home. Their daughter went outside to play. Shortly after, neighbors noticed the car was on fire. By the time the fire brigade arrived, the fire had already been partially extinguished by the neighbors. Sadly, the child’s body was discovered inside the vehicle after the fire was put out.
"It only became clear later that the girl hadn’t gone out to play but had been sitting in the car," the report indicates.
The regional police department had earlier announced an ongoing criminal investigation into the child’s death. Authorities are currently determining the cause of the fire, and all necessary examinations have been ordered.
The police confirmed that the spontaneous ignition of the VAZ car, parked in the yard, was captured by surveillance cameras from a neighboring house. The parents were inside their home at the time of the incident.
