Tengrinews.kz - Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has canceled his visit to Kazakhstan due to a potential earthquake.
It has been confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan that the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has been canceled.
"According to the Japanese Embassy, the decision to cancel Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's visit to Kazakhstan was made due to the earthquake in their country," said Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov.
Nagasaki Kishida has confirmed that he has cancelled an overseas trip.
“As the senior official responsible for managing the crisis in the country, as an additional precaution, I should remain in Japan for at least a week," Kishida said.
The Japan Meteorological Agency has warned of a high risk of a major earthquake along the Nankai Trough following tremors near the southern part of Kyushu Island.
