Tengrinews.kz - Kasym-Jomart Tokayev and Denis Sassou-Nguesso have issued a joint statement following bilateral talks.
The President expressed gratitude to Denis Sassou Nguesso for accepting the invitation to visit Kazakhstan on an official arrival.
Tokayev noted that the parties have reached important agreements.
"Today we discussed agriculture, manufacturing, transport and energy. We agreed to increase trade. Kazakhstan is ready to export grain to Congo and co-operate in the development of minerals," he stated.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the negotiations included discussions on expanding bilateral contacts in the transport and logistics sector.
"The Port of Pointe-Noire is a key to Central Africa, and Kazakhstan is interested in utilizing it. I have invited the leadership of Congo to the forum in Astana in 2025 so they can see Kazakhstan's economic potential," he said.
According to the President of Congo, promising cooperation lies in the development of the energy sector.
"Kazakhstan has expertise in the oil industry and is open to co-operation in other areas. Congo's energy sector offers great opportunities for Kazakh companies," Denis Sassou Nguesso said.
