The National Front for Liberation (NFL) targeted on August 19 and 20 several vehicles and a position of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).
Two videos shared by the Turkish-backed group show the targeting of a battle tank and a truck-mounted 57mm cannon north the town of Khan Shaykhun in southern Idlib. Both strikes took place at night. This means that the militants used ATGM launchers equipped with thermal sights.
A third video shows NFL militants targeting a fortified position of the SAA near the town of al-Karakat in northwestern Hama.
Despite the intense use of ATGMs, likely supplied by Turkey, the militants failed to hold onto their positions in northern Hama and southern Idlib. The SAA is now a few kilometers away from besieging key militants’ strongholds in the two regions.
