Units of the Afrin Liberation Forces (ALF) carried out three attacks on Turkish-backed militants in the occupied area of Afrin and its outskirt on July 3.
In an official statement, the Kurdish guerilla said: “Our forces continue to carry out military operations against the soldiers of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries in Afrin and its surroundings, causing more dead and wounded in the ranks of mercenaries.”
ALF units attacked two positions of the Turkish-backed Hamza Division and Elite Army in the towns of Marea and Daghlbash, east of Afrin. Kurdish fighters targeted the groups’ positions with an anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) and Recoilless rifles, killing at least 5 militants.
In the third attack, ALF cells targeted a vehicle of the Sultan Murad Division between the towns of Maydanki and Blblah in Afrin. At least three militants were killed as a result.
These repeated attacks by the ALF are an indication of the group’s growing influence around Afrin. The Turkish military and its proxies have failed to secure the region, so far.
