In the morning of April 21, Saudi security forces foiled a terrorist attack that targeted a center of the Presidency of State Security (SSP) in the area of al-Zulfi, north of the Saudi capital of Riyadh.“Four attackers were killed, according to the initial reports,” the al-Arabiya’s reporter in Riyadh said.
The attackers were reportedly armed with assault rifles, pistols, hand grenades and several bottles filled with gasoline. At least one of the attackers was also wearing a suicide belt.
A video of the attackers’ bodies shows that they were killed outside of the center. One of them was even killed inside his car. SouthFront has opted not to share the gruesome footage.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack attempt so far. However, Saudi sources said that attack was likely planned and carried out by ISIS cells.
The infamous terrorist group has vowed to launch attacks in Saudi Arabia and expand its self-proclaimed caliphate to cover the oil-rich kingdom. However, it has failed to achieve any real success in this, so far.
