It then enables you to appreciate more what is working and what isn't.

Steve Bruce was under pressure and needed a result, we played - from vague memory - very poorly and Stephen Clemence got a hugely deflected injury time winner. It took the pressure off of Bruce and we ended the season promoted.
Was last nights equaliser similar in terms of taking pressure off of Davies?
On another note, I thought Derby had always sold out throughout their history?
Bielik wasn't good enough for Championship last time, not sure he'd be better this time. Robinson is meat & potatoes and might be what we need to consolidate. Only hope with Cashin is he is ring rusty and will improve.

Personally, I thought Kyogo was far too slow. He wanted way more time than he had, albeit the defender did well. Other strikers would have taken that chance.
Must admit this season has not come as much as a surprise considering we grinded out 90% of the games last season waiting for lesser teams to lose concentration or lack fitness.
I think it is glaringly obvious the attacking nous of dowell really set us on our way last year in light of the passive midfield duo of paik / iwata.
We are also missing the balance and composure Ben Davies brought to the team who slotted in seamlessly and was deemed to be a valuable member of the squad last year with his leadership skills. Читать дальше...
would you be writing this if we'd comfortably won last night, which would have happened if not for a simple basic error by Cashin. I long to go back to the 16k days under Bowyer when we were utterly shite but no one said a word, where we didn't have the entitled extra 11k who now can't handle anything but perfection week in week out.
How do we set up then?
Neumann surely will come in with Klarer, I thought the attack looked good last night and Wrexham have struggled with pace and movement, for me:

I can see Davies starting with Dykes because of the physicality, especially when playing against Wrexham. I wouldn't be surprised if Davies decides to play Iwata at right back and put Neumann on the bench with Paik in the midfield. Injuries are starting to pile up as well so the bench might be a bit weaker.

At the beginning of the TF management era there was investment in players and a lot of expectation. But he never quite managed it. Maybe I'm looking back with rose tinted glasses but I don't remember the amount of head loss after 8 games that I'm seeing right now.

I think number 8 is right, I just don't think it's what you want to hear. I don't mean that disrespectfully either. I favour a long term building of promotion than a quick, risky gamble. But I don't believe TW sees it that way. I don't believe he is willing to risk such a large scale investment on championship football.
The SQ absolutely needs Prem revenue and top ten Prem at that. We're talking about a multi billion pound deal. I don't believe they'll commit to that risk if we can't prove ourselves to be a consistent PL side.

I’m not talking about team spirit, that is definitely there.
But we seem to be playing as separate units of defence, midfield and forwards with very little cohesion between the 3.
There doesn’t seem to be an understanding of what the other units need. I know it’s early in the season, but I don’t see any partnerships building between full backs and wingers, between midfielders, or midfielders and strikers, and definitely not at the back. Maybe getting a settled team will help.
