I Clock 20 Miles a Week at Disney World — These Adorable Sneakers Keep My Feet Comfy & Supported All Day

As a self-proclaimed Disney adult, I knew that I had to get my hands on the new Chip ‘n Dale sneakers from the latest Brooks x runDisney collaboration. The sneakers were launched at the 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend earlier this month and were a massive hit for runners and park-goers alike. In fact, they quickly sold out online (though just had a major restock recently). I’m not a runner per se, however, I do clock around 20 miles per week at the parks so having a solid sneaker to support my lifestyle is important. 

While they might look adorable, the more important question is, are they functional? Supportive? Well, I put them to the test for two weeks on my park adventures and during my workouts and let me just say they are my new favorite pair of shoes. 

First Impressions: Ghost 17 Chip ‘n Dale Sneaker Design 

These are the most adorable sneakers I’ve ever rested my eyes on and no, I’m not just saying that because Chip ‘n Dale are my favorite characters — well, maybe I am, however that’s besides the point. 

The Ghost 17 Chip ‘n Dale sneakers are a light brown color with hints of white, red and beige designed to be reminiscent of the adorable chipmunks. On one shoe you’ll notice red stitching for Dale and black stitching for Chip next to corresponding images of the fan-favorite chipmunks faces on the back of the heels. Plus, you’ll want to keep an eye out for the characters’ autographs on the side and the fuzzy tongue for enhanced characterization. 

Unlike the Ghost Max 2 Minnie Mouse shoes that I have from last year, I find the Chip ‘n Dale shoes to be a lot more comfortable and sleek. Don’t get me wrong, I love my vibrant red Minnie Mouse sneakers, however, they are a bit bulky and loud — definitely less practical for everyday wear and difficult to style especially if I’m not wearing anything red or something with polka dots. 

These sneakers on the other hand are bold and fun but the brown color is more neutral and easier to style whether I want to wear them with my Chip ‘n Dale hoodie or my PopFlex workout set. 

Now that we’ve established how appealing these sneakers are, it’s time to answer one of the most important questions. How do they hold up for a day in the parks or even a workout? 

Ghost 17 Chip ‘n Dale Performance Review

I decided to put these sneakers to the test during a visit to Epcot for the International Festival of the Arts. I was at the park all day from rope drop to close and my feet were still in pretty good condition at the end of the day. I had a bit of cramping since I’ve been walking around for 12 hours straight, however, I didn’t get any blisters nor experience any real discomfort during the day. 

The Ghost 17 Chip ‘n Dale shoes are described by the brand as having balanced support and a secure heel for stability. From my experience, my feet felt stable and I didn’t feel like there was much unwanted movement as I went about my day. The toe box was a bit on the narrow side which initially caused some discomfort, but after a few hours, my feet felt a lot better. 

Aside from being suitable for a day in the park, they also worked for a more standard gym workout. I wore them during my two mile run and they offered support and made it feel even easier with its smooth heel to toe design.

My only real qualm was that the laces felt a bit floppy — I had to tie them in several knots to get them to stay in place. It wasn’t the end of the world, however, it did cause me to pause my run until I found what worked. 

Verdict: Are the Ghost 17 Chip ‘n Dale Shoes Worth It?

If you’re nuts about Chip ‘n Dale (pun intended), then you’ll want to grab these sneakers before they’re gone for good. You won’t find a pair as adorable and functional as these made by one of the top sneaker brands in the industry. 

That said, they are $170 which is expensive, however, if you take into account the speciality design, quality and reputation of Brooks, then it’s easier to justify the price point. As someone who owns several pairs of Brooks, I can attest to the fact that they will last for years. These aren’t a pair of shoes you’ll be tossing after a few months of consistent wear — you’ll definitely get your money’s worth.
