Virginia Giuffre 'Vindicated' After Fresh Evidence Against Prince Andrew, Says Her Family: 'I Wish She Was Here To See This'
Virginia Giuffre’s family says she has been vindicated after fresh evidence appears to confirm that a photo of her with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is real. “I wish she was here to see this,” said her sister, Amanda.
Giuffre, who died by suicide in April 2025, was one of Jeffrey Epstein’s most prominent accusers, and long claimed she was trafficked to the former British prince three times while she was 17 years old. Andrew, who denies the allegation, previously questioned whether a now-infamous photo of him with his arm around Giuffre had been doctored.
Per CNN, a new batch of documents released by the US Justice Department last week includes a 2015 email purportedly sent to Epstein by his longtime accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell that suggests the image of Andrew and Giuffre is real.
In January 2015, a “G Maxwell” emailed the late convicted sex offender, writing, “It was in London when (redacted) met a number of friends of mine, including Prince Andrew. A photograph was taken as I imagine she wanted to show it to friends and family.”
According to CNN, details in the statement and subsequent emails from Epstein the same day indicate the redacted name was Giuffre. At the time the email was sent, details of Andrew’s alleged abuse of Giuffre were coming to light in US court documents in the case against Epstein. Also in January 2015, Andrew released a statement to deny “any form of sexual contact or relationship” with Giuffre, adding: “The allegations made are false and without any foundation.” He would later question the validity of the photo in an infamous 2019 interview with BBC’s Newsnight.
Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, told BBC’s Newsnight program on Feb. 4 that he and the family were “really proud of our sister,” adding, “This is a very vindicating moment for Virginia.”
“It truly does vindicate Virginia,” her brother continued. “She was not lying this entire time.”
Her sister, Amanda, added, “I’ve felt like a moment of such overwhelming emotion because I wish she was here to see this, she fought so hard and so long and she was still so strong.”
In 2022, Andrew reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre, paying her an undisclosed amount without admitting liability. Andrew was stripped of his royal titles and honors by his brother, King Charles, in October 2025 and forced to move out of his Royal Lodge home this month.
