Yes, Nikki Glaser Was Judd Apatow & Leslie Mann’s Babysitter—Here's What She's Said About It
If you tuned into the 2026 Golden Globes, you probably caught the moment that Judd Apatow revealed that host Nikki Glaser used to babysit his kids. If you didn’t catch it, we have all the details and more.
While presenting the award for Best Director, Apatow said that Glaser was once a babysitter for his two daughters, Maude and Iris Apatow, whom he shares with wife Leslie Mann.
While Maude and Iris are now 28 and 23, respectively, and no longer in need of a babysitter, we’re betting that Glaser, 41, was a great one. Here’s what she has said about her pre-comedy career job.
In 2011, Glaser left her life as a nanny behind to pursue comedy, joking to Vulture that year that her goal in life “is to never nanny again.” She added, “I’ll just never love your kid as much as you do. It’s impossible. I babysat for Judd Apatow when I lived in LA. It was a great gig, but it pained me to be around such greatness and only be known as a nanny.”
Later that year, she told The Washington Post more about the gig in the Apatow household. “I nannied for a couple of months,” she said. “The kids were super-funny; it made me wish I grew up in a comedy household. But nannying is demoralizing. I’m just not cut out for it.”
Glaser and Apatow do plan to reunite professionally, though this time around, there will be no babysitting involved. Deadline announced in October that the pair are teaming up to write and produce a new untitled edgy romantic comedy.
