Jerry O’Connell Gave His Teen Daughter the Most Petty Dating Advice & We’re So Here for It
One thing we definitely didn’t expect from the celebrity parenting world is that Jerry O’Connell is the King of petty dating advice for his daughters (and we’re obsessed)!
In a recent chat with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on Live with Kelly and Mark via People, he discussed how his teen daughters are dating and how he goes about this new development. He noted that he tries “to give them the benefit of the doubt” to his daughters’ partners, but he always puts his daughters first. (And as we said, he isn’t afraid to be petty!)
“Recently, there was a little bit of heartbreak in our household. And I said to my daughter, ‘Listen, these kind of things happen. Your mom has been wanting to leave me for a very long time,” he joked. “And I said, ‘You know what you have to do now?’ My daughter was like, ‘What?’ ‘You’ve got to go out with his best friend.’”
He added, “By the way, my daughter was like, ‘What, you’re a monster, why would you even say that?’”
But then, the Scream 2 actor revealed the unexpected turn of events after she said that. He said, “And then slept on it the next day and was like, ‘Uh, dad, I was thinking about what you were saying, and I threw a Snap to his friend. I’ll see what happens. Be open to the universe, right, Dad? Be open to the universe.’”
For those who don’t know, Romijn and O’Connell started dating in 2004, and got married three years later in 2007. They have welcomed twin daughters named Charlie Tamara Tulip and Dolly Rebecca Rose, born in Dec 28, 2008. While they’re in their teen years, it’s clear their parents will give the best (and most chaotic) advice!
