Now that Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple are officially engaged, could there be a televised Golden Bachelorette wedding on the horizon? The season’s lead has made her thoughts on a publicized marriage ceremony crystal clear.
In Nov. 13’s finale episode of The Golden Bachelorette, Chock popped the question to Joan after she picked him to be her winner in an emotional finale rose ceremony. “I waited til this moment in this amazing location to tell you that I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” Joan told the Kansas native during their Bora Bora proposal.
“I’ve been waiting forever to do this,” Chock told Joan before getting down on one knee and sealing the deal with a ring.
For now, Joan and Chock are enjoying their engagement and looking forward to an exciting move to New York City. However, in Bachelor Nation, it doesn’t take long for winner to make it down the aisle after getting engaged in finale episodes so fans of The Golden Bachelorette only have one thing on their minds…
The Golden Bachelorette stars Joan and Chock have confirmed that they do plan on getting married. During a Nov. 14 appearance on Good Morning America, the couple confirmed that their future plans involve a wedding.
“I finally, like, look forward to the next chapter of my life. I lost that, you know, for quite a while,” Joan said. “I think just living a little bit of a normal life for a bit of time and then we’ll start making wedding plans.”
“She’s going to marry me … it’s just a matter of time,” Chock added, to which Joan interjected, “I am.”
During an Oct. 23 appearance on The Viall Files podcast, Joan confirmed that she would gladly have a TV wedding if she ended up engaged at the end of her season.
“I do think that Bachelor Nation, all the people that are invested in your journey and have watched you, do deserve to get a good finale,” Joan said when asked if she would televise her nuptials. “So, if it is a wedding or if we move in together or if I find somebody at all, they deserve to get to know that. It’s not fair to stop the story right when it’s ending.”
Joan and Chock have not officially set a date for their wedding. ABC has also not confirmed whether there will be an official The Golden Bachelorette wedding.
However, Joan and Chock follow the timeline of 2023’s The Golden Bachelor season, they could be married as soon as January. The Golden Bachelor lead Gerry Turner tied the knot to his winner Theresa Nist on Jan. 4, 2024 after getting engaged in their season finale which aired on Nov. 30, 2023.
However, Gerry and Theresa announced that they were getting divorced three months later so perhaps Chock and Joan will be looking to have a longer engagement before their wedding.
For now, Chock and Joan have plans to relocate to New York City, as they told Us Weekly after their finale engagement.
“This first year, obviously, we have to kind of figure out life. Chock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids and Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he does have obligations in Kansas,” Joan said. “We know that we’re gonna spend time in Maryland and in Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed — and we’re finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true — that we live in a big city, and, specifically, we’ve always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, ‘I want us to go find a place.'”
“We both love the energy in the city and love that there’s always something to do,” Joan continued. “We just wanna go out and walk and experience life — go to fun restaurants and [experience the] culture. We both have friends there. We’re gonna be there during the holidays, which is the best time ever in New York City. I think it’s just a really different life than either one of us have ever lived.”
