After filming the western movie Broken Trail, Rumer Willis decided to add a new family member to her crew. A four-legged family member that is: a horse named Moose Willis! She shared new photos of her “baby boy,” and he looks so cute.
“She’s a horse girly now…decided I couldn’t let this love affair end in Arkansas so I brought my baby boy Moose home,” Willis wrote on Instagram. “Welcome to the family Moose Willis.”
She thanked her Broken Trail co-star James Landry Hebert “for helping to make this dream come true.” In the pictures, she wore a white maxi skirt and tank top with cowboy boots. In one photo, she holds the reins, leading her beautiful brown horse into a sandy paddock. The fact that she’s a certified horse girl is giving us life! And we can’t wait to what her 15-month-old daughter Louetta “Lou,” who she shares with partner Derek Richard Thomas, thinks about her new brother!
One person commented, “Best addition to the family ever!! That’s going to be so sweet for your little one growing up ????????” Another wrote, “????❤️❤️Oh my mama. How incredible.”
The My Divorce Party star has posted about Moose several times. She shared pictures of her daughter Lou visiting her on set and meeting Moose and some other horses. “Man, I love my little Lou. You can tell she is a Willis cause when she came to visit mama on set and I was covered in blood she didn’t even flinch, she just reached out her arms and grabbed me tight and gave me a big ole smooch,” she captioned the post. “The privilege of having a job that allows me to have my daughter with me in some thing I don’t take for granted and I feel so grateful to the support system that I have here that allows me to show up and do the best job I can do.”
In another post, Willis included pictures of her riding Moose and revealed that making this movie helped her learn more about herself. “I feel like I’m discovering a new part of myself here,” the mom of one wrote. “Uncovering new layers and depths I didn’t know existed. Allowing the usual voice of the inner critic fade into the white noise as my confidence and trust in myself begins to unfurl again. Using my voice and being a leader. I’m stronger than I thought I was and I love stretching myself with new adventures.”
“As the only gal on this wild ride and my first western, I am giddy ever day to see how I can keep up with these gun slinging, horseback riding hooligans,” she continued, adding that her “favorite scene partner” is her “sweet horse Moose.” Aww! It’s no wonder she needed to bring Moose home with her. We’re looking forward to seeing how he integrates with his new forever family. (Maybe they could have a playdate with Kaley Cuoco’s daughter Tildy and her horse!)
