Sure, there are many couples in Hollywood that we love to obsess over. But, let’s be honest, if Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds aren’t even in your top five, there’s something wrong. After all, in addition to being absolutely gorgeous individuals, their sense of humor and love for each other is enough to have us swooning every time.
Most recently, Lively, who stars in the upcoming film adaptation of It Ends With Us, shared her support for Reynolds’ new movie, Deadpool & Wolverine.
In the Instagram post, Lively posted a sweet picture of herself kissing her husband in his full Deadpool gear. In the second slide, a bare-faced Lively talked to the camera. “Tell me Deadpool is married to a millennial girl in real life without telling me,” she said.
The video then showed small snippets of Deadpool’s three movies, including moments from the trailer of the upcoming one. Among the millennial references he makes are having Avril Lavigne in the soundtrack, a mention of Harry Potter‘s sorting hat, Deadpool’s dance breaks to Celine Dion and *NSYNC, and quick hilarious shout-outs to Sabrina the Teenage Witch, My Little Pony, Summer Balayage and Judy Blume.
“I have never felt more seen,” Lively cheerfully said at the end of the video.
In the caption, Lively reiterated her support. “My y2k girlies, I should be competitive bc @itendswithusmovie is coming out in 3 weeks BUT when your middle school obsessions, your feelings post-baby, or about Nice men who use feminism as a tool, your love of the Wizard of Oz, Succession, Sandy & Danny, driving with Avril blasting, the way the choreography of a certain boy*band song got me, of Baz Luhrmann fireworks to punctuate a moment, even down to the fact that our hair color is determined by seasons and the French method by which it’s painted are all so seen,” she wrote. “MY WORD.”
“It’s hard not to encourage my ladies to spot all the ways we’ve influenced @deadpoolmovie I’ve never been more proud,” she added. “And I’ve given birth 4 times. ????❤️????”
In the comments, her millennial fans praised the Lively-inspired add-ons. “The only thing missed is a Gossip Girl reference!!” wrote one user. “????????????You get that writer credit?” asked another.
Avril Lavigne also commented on the post, showing how happy she is to be featured. “This movie is gonna rock!” the “Sk8ter Boi” singer wrote. “I can’t wait to see it!!”
In addition to supporting Reynolds on social media, Lively also attended the global premiere of the movie with her husband on July 22. For the occasion, the mom of four absolutely rocked a bright red Versace jumpsuit with black lace details and an off-the-shoulder neckline. Deadpool, but making it high-fashion, if you will.
Knowing her own premiere is just a few weeks away, we can’t wait to see how Reynolds returns the favor!
