Former President Donald Trump refused to appear in an interview with CBS News program "60 Minutes" this week after they offered both presidential teams an opportunity for an interview.
And he now alleges a conspiracy is afoot.
Ahead of the interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, "60 Minutes" walked through the back and forth it had with Trump's team when requesting the interview.
"The Trump campaign had said that the interview would be this past Thursday at Mar-A-Lago, Trump's Florida home. It also asked whether 60 Minutes would meet 78-year-old Trump in , where the Republican candidate for president was in an assassination attempt. '60 Minutes' agreed. On Sept. 9, Trump communications director Steven Cheung sent a text that read: 'I'm working with our advance team to see logistically if Butler would work in addition to the sit-down,'" Scott Pelley said on air.

Cheung claimed that Trump said "yes" to the interview. Ultimately, however, he withdrew.
At first, Trump said they would fact-check him and he wouldn't allow that. He then said that to do the interview, he wanted an apology from Leslie Stahl, claiming she said something about Hunter Biden. Trump then pulled the interview.
And on Thursday, he took to his app to baselessly claim the program and its network are "dirty."
"CBS and 60 Minutes, working with the Democrats, probably did the same thing with the Crooked Joe Biden interviews as they did for Kamala - Changed his answers so that he looked intelligent, which he is not. With me they probably edit my answers to make me look as bad as possible," Trump wrote Thursday afternoon on Truth Social.
He went on to talk about a "Kamala Scandal," though he didn't explain what the scandal was other than claiming there was one.
"We have the PROOF that 60 Minutes, and CBS, play DIRTY. Real Creeps!" Trump said with his occasional all-caps words.
Trump previously said that the interview with Harris was "illegal."
