A Fox News host on Monday complained that Vice President Kamala Harris' interview on a popular podcast over the weekend might have given too good of a performance, The Daily Beast reports.
The 2024 Democratic nominee appeared on Alex Cooper's "Call Her Daddy" podcast on Sunday, which Politico reports has "an audience of 5 million engaged and loyal listeners."
The Beast reported that Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt commented on the vice president's interview, saying, "Over the weekend she was on this podcast with [Call Her Daddy host] Alex Cooper and I was listening to that and, if you don’t know the issues, you really think ‘okay, she’s selling herself."
Earhardt continued, "She’s talking about women’s rights and how Donald Trump has stacked the court with all these conservative justices and, if you’re a woman listening to that podcast, and you don’t know how progressive she is, you might vote for her."
Politico wrote:
For the Harris team, going on 'Call Her Daddy' was a no-brainer. Cooper’s podcast used to be owned by Barstool Sports, if that’s any indication of the type of listener she attracts. She has described her audience as 'politically divided,' and according to data from Edison Research obtained by NPR, almost half her listeners — 24 percent identify as Republican and 20 percent as independent — come from the persuadable group of voters Harris is trying to reach. The vast majority are women under the age of 45, a group Harris needs to win by a dramatic margin.
