Fresh off a spat with a fellow Trump ally, Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed the Georgia prosecutor who indicted the former president on racketeering charges related to the 2020 election after she failed to appear for a subpoena.
A GOP-led special Georgia state Senate committee subpoenaed Democratic Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and planned to quiz her Friday about possible "misconduct” related to her election case against Trump. They were unable to do so, however, because Willis didn’t show up, The Associated Press reported.
The no-show caught the attention of the firebrand Republican Rep. Greene, who blasted Willis on X.

"Fani Willis thinks she is above the law, defying a subpoena from the Georgia State Senate today," wrote Greene. "Her defiance is absolutely unacceptable. There are very serious questions regarding various potential forms of misconduct. This investigation is all the more urgent considering her political persecution of the leading candidate for President. Fani Willis is NOT above the law."
Greene has notably been a vocal defender of Trump, who has been criminally charged in four states, including 34 felony convictions in his hush-money case in New York City.
Last week, Willis petitioned a judge to declare the subpoenas void and prevent the panel from enforcing them. The challenge was not heard before the Friday hearing.
Greene has been in the news this week over a public confrontation with Laura Loomer, a right-wing influencer who has grown increasingly close to Trump in recent days.
"Laura Loomer’s nasty, racist, and divisive rhetoric should not be tolerated," Greene wrote. "We are not the left."
