Reacting to a Donald Trump posting on Truth Social late Saturday where the former president issued a threat aimed at election poll workers, a furious Michael Steele hammered the ex-president for threatening people just trying to do their jobs.
The co-host of MSNBC's "The Weekend," started the segment by reading Trump's post while explaining normally they refuse to repeat what he has to say on social media.
Nonetheless he read Trump claiming, "Therefore, the 2024 Election, where Votes have just started being cast, will be under the closest professional scrutiny and, WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again. We cannot let our Country further devolve into a Third World Nation, AND WE WON’T! Please beware that this legal exposure extends to Lawyers, Political Operatives, Donors, Illegal Voters, & Corrupt Election Officials. Those involved in unscrupulous behavior will be sought out, caught, and prosecuted at levels, unfortunately, never seen before in our Country."

That led Steele to blow up and explain to his panel, "Folks, this is already happening. It's already happening. I give you Georgia. Look at what the legislature is done in Georgia and other states. The platform is being created for everything he just said in that tweet — it's already being created."
"Let's just stop for a moment and go to Fantasyland 101 and pretend for a moment that the Democratic nominee for president of the United States issued that warning. What the heck do you think people will be talking about this morning? How much noise would there be across this country if a Democratic candidate for president has threatened poll workers and threatened voters," he exclaimed.
"It is just — I'm so sick and tired of people just passing this crap off from this man as ''Oh, this is Donald Trump and he don't mean it and he's just talking,'" he complained before warning, "They are already laying the platform for this!"
