A former Republican governor is baffled about how Donald Trump could mess up a photo-op at Arlington National Cemetery.
Trump appeared on Monday for a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier — but landed in the middle of a scandal involving photos and videos apparently intended to promote his campaign which is forbidden in the sacred burial ground.
To make matters worse, a Trump campaign staffer is accused of shoving an Arlington official who reportedly tried to tell the team they couldn't take photos. The U.S. Army has released a statement on the matter, calling the behavior "disgraceful."
Speaking to MSNBC on Thursday, former Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R), who is still a Republican but has been highly critical of Trump, confessed that this is just the latest in a series of flubs that are causing a huge problem for the campaigns of Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance (R-OH).

"Look, we have something going on here," Kasich began. "You have this — what has just come out — this tape of Vance, he should apologize, you know? He doesn't even seem to want to kind of walk it back, which I don't really understand."
His comments were about video unearthed this week in which Vance attacks the credentials of childless teachers. In the 2022 footage, Vance was responding to a question about handling problems with schools and making them more responsive to parents.
Vance attacked teachers' union president Randi Weingarten, who describes herself as “a mother by marriage” with a spouse who had children before they were married. Vance said she “doesn’t have a single child.”
“If she wants to brainwash and destroy the minds of children, she should have some of her own and leave ours the hell alone,” he said in a 30-second clip.
"Then you've got Trump here over at Arlington Cemetery, and all the news is about those guys. And, if the news is all about them and it's not about Kamala Harris and what she stands for or flip flops or whatever, how are they going to win an election doing that?" Kasich asked.
"So, you know, they're really, really out of step, and it's still, you know, we're not to Labor Day but we're right around the corner. They've just lost their footing," he continued. "But if it's all about what Vance said, you know, or whether it's about Trump being, in — how do you go to Arlington Cemetery and cause a problem? Then you see they're missing the boat."
