In the latest episode of Bulwark Takes, former GOP strategist Tim Miller explored the "online insane asylum" that is former President Donald Trump's Truth Social account — and exposed what's going on below the surface.
All of this comes as the parent company behind Trump's social media platform is hemorrhaging investors as they jump ship and the company plummets in value.
"Donald Trump has been completely deranged and unhinged over on his social media feed today," said Miller. "I know he thinks nobody notices, because nobody's on Truth Social, whatever he calls it. But, you know, we gotta monitor it, we gotta know what's happening in the mind of one of the two people that might be the next President of the United States."

"And what's happening in that mind, I don't know, it's either like a monkey clapping the cymbals, or a tornado/hurricane vibe in there, because things have gotten very weird."
As an example, Miller read off one all-caps "Truth" Trump posted to the site this week: "IT’S ALWAYS FAKE WITH KAMALA. WE’RE DOMINATING HER ON SOCIAL MEDIA, SO SHE MAKES UP A FAKE LIST OF HER NUMBERS VERSUS MY NUMBERS. ALL OF OUR ENGAGEMENT IS REAL AND ORGANIC, WHILE KAMALA HAS TO PAY FOR HER FAKE ENGAGEMENT. WE’RE BEATING HER 'LIKE A DRUM', LIKE WE WILL BEAT HER ON NOVEMBER 5TH. IT’S ALL FAKE, IT’S ALL MISINFORMATION AND DISINFORMATION. WE ARE DESTROYING THE DEMOCRATS ON SOCIAL MEDIA!"
"What is this about?" said Miller. "What is he even talking about? Her numbers vs my numbers? She makes up a fake list? He is ... so obsessed with the size of things."
Miller then walked through a number of Trump's other posts, including a lengthy quotation from former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s running mate Nicole Shanahan, who said she now believes Trump is being "persecuted" because "DNC-aligned PAC attorneys" questioned her "like a criminal," and a repost of someone else's post that said "ReTruth if you want public military tribunals!" Another of his posts showed a scary-looking black-and-white picture of Obama alongside a number of national security officials, with the caption, "Never has a president left office to collude with others to impede the next sitting president of the United States until Obama!"
This kind of insanity pervades the entire site, said Miller, even in the ads. Among the advertisements that pop up on the site are one offering a free copy of "The Kids Guide to President Trump," and another promoting Ivermectin, an antiparasitic medication used to deworm horses that became conspiracy theorists' preferred alternative to the COVID vaccine, often with fatal consequences.
It's hard to even make heads or tails of this in terms of normal politics, said Miller.
Some of it might seem funny, he cautioned, but these kinds of bizarre, fact-free posts have led to "real world consequences," with the Pizzagate gunman being an example of what happens when right-wing conspiracy theories go too far. "Pretty dark stuff, needs to be monitored. Also, I think, it's a sign of Trump's mental state, which is not good ... the seriousness is undeniable."
