A police motorcycle officer escorting Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris's motorcade was reportedly critically hurt in a crash Wednesday night as they left a restaurant in Georgia.
A bus tour for Harris and running mate Tim Walz briefly paused in Savannah, Georgia, around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday after an officer in the motorcade crashed, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
Savannah police told the news outlet the officer was in critical condition and taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center.

A Christian Science Monitor reporter who was part of the vice-presidential press pool said the motorcade slowed and went around the vehicle. One person was reportedly on the ground and there was blood.
"At least one other person was tending to the person on the ground," the reporter said. "There were two motorcycles stopped and one on the ground. It looks like the single motorcycle had lost control, not collided with something else."
A photo taken at the scene showed a police motorcycle lying on the ground on the shoulder of Interstate 516. A second photo reportedly showed an officer on the ground in a pool of blood.
