A former GOP strategist believes Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is approaching an upcoming debate with Kamala Harris in such a way that it'll be a "disaster for him."
Stuart Stevens told CNN panelists Monday night on "NewsNight" that not only is Trump's head in the wrong place — "his campaign knows it."
"He doesn't respect the vice president," Stevens said. "And that's going to come across."
Trump's endless stream of attacks on Harris include calling her "dumb" and a “socialist lunatic."

“Why is she going to the convention? Because it’s a rigged convention, obviously. She got no votes,” Trump has said.
Stevens said Trump has a "problem with women" — and a "real problem with Black women in power."
"This is going to come across. I think this is going to be a very bad night for Trump," Stevens added.
The former strategist said the debate will likely not come down to policy, but vibes from the two.
"You can't coach this guy. He's like an athlete that's uncoachable," Stevens said.
