Vice President Kamala Harris addressed a packed crowd at her Atlanta rally Tuesday night, alongside rap stars Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion — and even quoted Quavo as she attacked former President Donald Trump for talking out of both sides of his mouth on the border security issue.
Harris, who for much of President Joe Biden's administration was tasked with diplomacy to address the root causes of migrant surges at the border, went on offense over what Trump has long planned to be a key policy issue for his own campaign, by reminding voters that when Biden and Senate lawmakers came together on a bipartisan border security deal, Trump worked behind the scenes to ensure it died in the cradle.
As the California attorney general, Harris reminded the crowd, she was responsible for the most populous border state. "I went after transnational gangs, drug cartels, and human traffickers ... and I won."

As for Trump killing the bipartisan border deal, she said, it proves that Trump loves "talking a big game about securing our border, but he does not walk the walk."
And she quoted Quavo.
"He does not walk it like he talks it," said Harris.
"He tanked the bipartisan deal because he thought it would help him win an election. Which goes to show Donald Trump does not care about border security, he only cares about himself. And when I am president I will actually work to solve the problem," Harris said, to thunderous applause from the arena.
She added: "As president, I will bring back the border security that Donald Trump killed and I will sign it into law and show Donald Trump what real leadership looks like."
