Kamala Harris is reportedly close to choosing a running mate after seemingly locking down the Democratic presidential nomination.
The vice president will launch a tour of battleground states next week alongside her running mate, two sources familiar with the planning told Reuters — which suggests the selection process for the Democratic vice presidential candidate may be near completion.
One of those sources said Harris would announce her running mate before that tour begins.

Reuters reported that her shortlist includes Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Governors Roy Cooper of North Carolina and Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan each took themselves out of the running for that role on Monday.
