Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) just this year endorsed a book cowritten by right-wing agitator Jack Posobiec whose central thesis is that progressives are a species of "unhumans."
In fact, the description of progressives as "unhuman" is right in the book's title: Unhumans: The Secret History of Communist Revolutions (and How to Crush Them).
As Mother Jones reports, the book is filled with QAnon-style rhetoric that portrays all progressives as part of an ancient, centuries-long plot to destroy human civilization.
“With power, unhumans undo civilization itself,” Posobiec and his coauthor, Joshua Lisec, write. “They undo order. They undo the basic bonds of society that make communities and nations possible. They destroy the human rights of life, liberty, and property—and undo their own humanity in the process by fully embracing nihilism, cynicism, and envy.”
Another passage of the book claims that the "unhumans" "don’t believe what they say. They don’t care about winning debates. They don’t even want equality. They just want an excuse to destroy everything. They want an excuse to destroy you.”

Vance, who eight years ago was a "Never Trump" conservative who expressed concerns about the corrosive effects of Trump's dehumanizing rhetoric on society, gave the book an enthusiastic thumbs up.
"In the past, communists marched in the streets waving red flags," wrote Vance in his praise of the book, which also has a foreword written by convicted criminal Steve Bannon. "Today, they march through HR [Human Resources], college campuses, and courtrooms to wage lawfare against good, honest people. In Unhumans, Jack Posobiec and Joshua Lisec reveal their plans and show us what to do to fight back."
According to Mother Jones, the book also praises the violent pro-Trump mob that stormed the United States Capitol building on January 6th, 2021.
Specifically, the book calls the rioters there "well meaning patriots" who were set up by the government as part of a trap.
