A multi-millionaire who was a key Donald Trump ally pushing election theft conspiracy rumors after the former president's 2020 loss is already laying the groundwork for 2024 chaos by providing financial support to groups pushing more fringe theories.
According to a report from the Guardian's Peter Stone, former Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne is sinking millions into the Pro-MAGA America Project which is then being dispensed to groups in the key states of Arizona and Michigan among others.
In a previous interview, Byrnes was upfront in admitting that only $3 million of the $30 million funding for America Project came from the public while he donated the other 90 percent.
According to the Guardian's Stone, "The America Project was launched in April 2021 by Byrne and Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser to Donald Trump when he was president; both Byrne and Flynn have been vocal purveyors of falsehoods that Trump lost the 2020 election due to fraud. They were also both at a meeting with Trump and others in late 2020 to brainstorm ways to overturn his loss."

The report notes that tax records reveal the organization has "sent hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Arizona-based We the People AZ Alliance, and Michigan-based United States Election Investigation and Lawsuits Inc, triggering alarms by election watchdogs and some GOP veterans due to their incendiary election denialist stances and leaders."
This has led Michael Beckel, research director at Issue One, to raise a red flag.
"At a time when people across the political spectrum should be standing up to defend the integrity of our safe and secure elections, election deniers have used the We the People AZ Alliance to further erode trust in elections," he warned.
