Former President Donald Trump appeared to rib his former New Jersey primary opponent during a rally Tuesday at Doral golf club in South Florida.
Trump started to share a story in which he said a waitress walked up to him — "a beautiful waitress" he noted, adding he "never like(s) talking about physical [appearance].
That's where the story diverted to, in his words, how people can "never talk about a person's look. Ever."
"You never mention it," he said.
His train of thought detoured to an unconfirmed story about another man, who made an insensitive joke about former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
"I got very angry," Trump said. "Some man called Chris Christie fat. And I said, 'Sir!' And then he said he was a pig. I said, 'Sir! Chris Christie is not a fat pig! Please remember that.'"
As the MAGA audience let out a slight laugh, Trump repeated: "He is not a fat pig! Please take it back!"
The man looked at Trump, the former president said, and gave him a perplexed look.
"Now we have to defend people," Trump said, in a manner that could be construed sarcastically. "You can't call people fat."
Trump added: "I said it about nine times. 'He is not a fat pig.'"

Earlier in the rant, Trump took another victory lap over his CNN debate with President Joe Biden and laid down a new challenge: Accept another debate invitation for this week and beat me in 18 holes of golf.
He even offered to give Biden "10 strokes" — and should he win, donate $1 million to the charity of his choice.
