MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 71-year-old man was brutally attacked on a Manhattan subway platform back on Aug. 10, according to the NYPD.
It happened inside the Broadway-Lafayette Street/Bleecker Street station around 7:45 p.m. The victim was approached by a man who punched him multiple times in the face, per police.
The 71-year-old man then fell and hit his head on the subway platform, according to authorities. The suspect fled the station on foot.
The victim suffered a laceration to his head and bruising and swelling to his face, per police. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue.
The NYPD released photos of the suspect on Thursday. He was last seen wearing a red and black jacket, black pants and white sneakers and was pushing a hand truck.
