NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Getting around New York City on an e-bike is about to get more expensive.
Citi Bike announced an increase in per-minute pricing for all e-bike usage that will go into effect on Wednesday, July 10.
The price hikes reportedly reflect higher than anticipated battery swapping, insurance, and vehicle expenses, according to the Citi Bike website. There will be no changes to annual or monthly membership pricing, day pass, or single pass prices.
The pricing changes are listed below.
Member Pricing Changes:
Reduced Fare Bike Share Members:
Lyft Pink All Access:
Non-member Single Ride:
Non-member Day Pass:
This marks the second time Citi Bike has increased prices in 2024. In January, the company claimed it was raising prices to support its growing operations and continued expansion.
The change will not affect e-bike prices in New Jersey at this time.
