WINDSOR, Mass. (NEWS10) -- A Windsor man was arraigned on Friday on one count of first-degree murder, the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office announced. 65-year-old Paul Menard turned himself in to state police on Thursday afternoon.
On October 31 around 1:45 p.m., Menard reportedly walked into the Massachusetts State Police barracks in Cheshire and reported that he had shot and killed his sister, Monique Menard, 62, of Hinsdale, at his home in Windsor. Troopers investigated the residence, where they located Monique's body face-down next to her parked car.
Further investigation in tandem with Paul Menard's testimony determined that Monique had been shot three times. Menard told state police that despite not having a firearm license, he had used two total firearms in the incident, the first of which jammed during the shooting.
Officials say Menard has remained cooperative with police during the investigation. He was held without the right to bail following his arraignment.
