ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department confirmed that the man who was struck by a car on Thursday morning near Manning Boulevard and Lark Drive has died from his injuries. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Daquan Phillips, of Albany.
Albany Police determined during the investigation that Brittany Hawkins, 34, of Albany, drove up on the sidewalk and allegedly hit Phillips with her car on purpose before crashing into a residence at the Upper Skyline Apartments. Police say Hawkins and Phillips were neighbors and were reportedly arguing with each other leading up to the incident.
Hawkins was arrested at the scene and was initially charged with second-degree attempted murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
