ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Daisy Diaz is sharing a taste of Mexico with Albany and beyond. Her bakery, Daisies Pasteles, is a dream come true for the Albany High School graduate.
The bakery opened in late March/early April and specializes in traditional Mexican pastries, including tres leches cake, coco flan, and conchas. On weekends, they offer tacos and tamales, that are quickly winning over diners in search of it Monday through Friday.
Diaz turned her passion for baking into a successful business during the pandemic. The original plan was to be a social worker, but her baking hobby took off! In September, the small bakery held a ribbon cutting ceremony to coincide with Hispanic Heritage Month.
Daisies Pasteles is located at 418 Madison Ave in Albany. The bakery is open 7 days a week.
