ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Police are investigating a reported robbery at the University at Albany's uptown campus. Police said an altercation between a male student and multiple suspects took place Sunday night near State Quad.
Investigators said the victim and suspects knew one another and believe it was targeted. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call University Police at (518) 442-3131.
The reported robbery took place one week after an officer was hit by a vehicle during an attempted traffic stop. The people inside the vehicle were not students. Three of the people inside the vehicle are facing criminal charges.
Ualbany reminded students and faculty about safety precautions to take while on campus, including staying in well lit areas and being mindful of surroundings. Students can report suspicious activity by calling campus police or 911 or texting University Police through the Guardian Safety app.
