RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that Zachary Frye, 29, of Rensselaer County, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually exploiting a child. Frye pleaded guilty back in April.
As part of his plea, Frye admitted to taking numerous sexual photos of a five-year-old child back in October of 2019. He additionally admitted that he was required to be registered as a sex offender at the time due to a 2017 New York State court conviction for promoting the sexual performance of a child.
Frye also confessed to digitally sharing the photos with another person as part of an online conversation discussing sexually abusing children. The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security.
In addition to the prison sentence, Frye was ordered to serve a life term of post-release supervision. He will also have to register as a sex offender when he is released.
