WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Watervliet swore in a new chief of police on Thursday. Chief William Rice began his law enforcement career in 1994.
He worked for the Village of Nassau Police Department, and the Albany County Sheriff's Office in 1999.
Chief Rice said he is excited for the job and is grateful to have the mayor and other city officials who support the police department. He said the Watervliet Police Department has a lot of talent and that helps during all investigations.
