BALLATON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- After initially rejecting a plea deal on June 11, Sebastian Mabb, 31, of Saratoga Springs, accepted a plea deal on Thursday. Mabb is accused or killing Brianna Craig, his former partner, in February.
According to the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office, Mabb pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. As a part of the deal, Mabb admitted that he intentionally caused the death of Craig. She was found dead inside her Saratoga Springs apartment on February 6.
The plea deal satisfies both charges of the indictment from March, which also includes aggravated criminal contempt. "This tragic case demonstrates the profound effect domestic violence has not only on the victims of abuse and murder, but their children and extended families," said District Attorney Karen Heggen.
Mabb is set to be sentenced to 23 years to life in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for September 5 in Saratoga County Court.
